Very little is known about Widmer, who published only this and one other piece (under her own name, at any rate). That little has been collected, mostly from census records, by Bill Edwards, who has posted the information here, and can be contacted at ragpiano.com.
The Flower City Society Orchestra recorded this piece at a live concert at the Ingle Auditorium at the Rochester Institute of Technology in 1998, shortly after it was formed. We have continued playing since, and are hoping to regroup after a long COVID hiatus.
